Cook / Chef

Great Western Dining Service at our Southeast Community College - Lincoln location is looking for a skilled Cook / Chef to prepare delicious meals. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Responsibilities :

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to create new menu items and improve existing recipes
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies
