Summary

TAMCO is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Associate to ensure the highest standards of health and safety within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management, with experience in policy development, training, and conducting safety audits. This role is essential for promoting a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Write and implement health and safety policies in compliance with OSHA standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and ensure all employees are informed about safety protocols.
  • Facilitate forklift training to ensure compliance and safe operation.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analyses to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct post-accident investigations, gather information and prepare reports, identify possible causes and hazards and take correct action.
  • Ensure all new hires receive appropriate job safety orientation.
  • Stay updated on relevant health and safety regulations to ensure organizational compliance while managing the company’s SDS / chemical log in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety to ensure they remain current and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Support branch network safety needs and help support fleet vehicle safety.

Education / Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in health and safety management or a related field.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and OSHA 511 certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Board certification from BCSP is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in conducting safety audits and inspections.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using SharePoint.
  • Possess familiarity with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) platforms for managing safety data, compliance tracking, and incident reporting.
  • Adept in using Excel to manage training, safety documentation and record keeping.

    Physical Demands
