Job descriptionMeet one-on-one with adult learners enrolled in ASE and ESOL classes to develop individualized education and career plans leading learners to their next steps Develop and deliver goal-setting whole group lessons to ASE and ESOL classes at all levels Collaborate with ASE and ESOL colleagues and program supervisor regarding effective advising practices Assist in intake, assessment, retention and evaluation procedures Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies serving as referrals based on students' goals Engage in follow-up reporting for exited students and enter data into the LACES System Participate in biweekly Staff and Common Planning meetings Other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor

POSITION / TITLE : Career & Education Advisor for Adult Education, Part-Time, Morning programming
DATE OF OPENING : August 26, 2025
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Grades K-8 or Grades 5-12 preferred
- Knowledge of Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Standards for Adult Education, College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education, and Massachusetts Guidelines for Effective Adult Basic Education in Advising
- Demonstrable excellent teaching and advising skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills
- Prior successful experience working with adult learners
- Certified to administer / score BEST Plus 3.0, TABE Clas-E, and MAPT assessment tools
- Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred
- Outstanding preparation and / or experience may be substituted for some of the qualifications listed above
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
SALARY :
45.00 per hour, up to 30 hours per week, according to the current salary schedule negotiated by Unit A of the Methuen Education Association, contingent upon grant funding
