Description
Clark Nexsen is seeking a creative, ambitious Architect III who shares our commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and innovation. You will join a team of architects and designers, working in a multi-discipline, collaborative, and engaging team-based environment that draws on multiple perspectives in the pursuit of innovative solutions. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to shape architectural projects in a variety of typologies and scales for clients that include educational and cultural institutions, commercial developers, government entities, and local communities. The ideal candidate for this position will be energetic and passionate about design, committed to quality, engaged in team, office, and firm-wide initiatives, able to work independently and in a team environment, an enthusiastic mentor for other design staff, and able to prioritize work.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project
- Serve as a subject matter expert on specialized systems
- Liaises with Project Management, other Architects and consultants
- Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects
- Coordinates with Director and Department Head on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies
- Collaborate with project teams during project design phases including programming, concept development, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
- Develop design sketches, renderings, models, graphics, presentation materials, analysis, and construction drawings and schedules
- Participate in the bidding and construction administration of projects including jobsite visits, review of submittals, and responding to contractor questions
- Communicate and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders including clients, owners, users, team members, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve overall project objectives
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and participation in continuouslearning
- Mentor junior design staff in their professional development
- Help deliver great projects with a sense of energy, passion and personal responsibility!

Workplace Flexibility
We have selected two as common days in the office to nurture collaboration and innovation and to support learning and growth through engagement with colleagues. We are asking everyone to be present on Mondays and Thursdays, with a required third day that will provide additional flexibility and be set established between you and your supervisor (with consideration given to your project team members and clients). Our hope is that this schedule will offer the work-life balance that is desired by all, while providing consistent opportunities for face-to-face collaboration and mentorship.
Physical Requirements
Work is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and lifting of minimal weight.
