Join us as we digitally connect the world and shape the future.The RoleWe have an immediate need for a Principal Security Architect, to join the Public Sector Security Architecture and Engineering team. In this role, you will be a part of a team that builds security solutions to protect Lumen public sector customers and infrastructure from advanced security threats.We are looking for a skilled and driven security expert capable of working independently and as part of the team, with extensive experience in building technical designs, excellent communications skills, and experience in presenting technical security issues and solutions to a wide variety of audiences including the senior leadership team.Your specific responsibility will be to provide subject matter expertise for multiple, complex security systems, including innovation, development of security architectures and roadmaps, and evaluating, planning and designing the security solutions in support of the Public Sector Security Operations Center systems, infrastructure, and applications. Additionally, the Principal Security Architect will collaborate with Product, IT, Network, and Security teams, and provide the security technology expertise in the development of future business security strategies.LocationThis role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.The Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop modern, cloud-first platform to cost-effectively support and grow public sector security services.Develop and maintain the public sector security strategy, architecture roadmap, and new security solutions, to reduce risk and drive beneficial security change.Keep up to date on Cyber policy and legislation matters and act as a liaison between the business, compliance, and technology stakeholders to align business requirements with security standards.Help identify the development scope and lead the technical architecture development in support of Lumen Public Sector SOC technology transformation into the Cloud environments.Plan and develop multivendor network, compute, virtualization, and security systems and drive the implementation through engineering, test, and operations handoff. Lead architectural approval, project coordination, and security certification processes.Build standard cloud deployments that can rapidly meet and prove compliance. Build standard inter cloud environment control planes and data planes to support distributed, federally compliant security services.Generate high quality technical documentation and configuration guides to support architecture and solution designs, with the ability to articulate and convey concepts and details to all levels of recipients.Develop, modify, and follow associated Security Operation Center processes applicable to the role.Develop custom applications for handling a variety of data sources. Guide development of reporting tools to provide customers with insights into their data.As a technical advisor, provide subject matter expertise when in-depth technical material is needed or to present the future-looking architecture roadmap.Serve as a technical and policy resource to the LUMEN Federal Sales team relating to product opportunities, customer dialogue opportunities, and cyber capability discussions.Develop partnerships with key equipment suppliers. Communicate requirements, guidance, and vision to the vendor community to develop, implement, and support security solutions.Be recognized as a subject matter expert within and outside of the Company. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with diverse end users and a geographically distributed team and engage in direct communication with Director, VP, and executive level leadership.Reflect Company Values : maintain positivity and openness, embrace diverse opinions, share timely information, explain business decisions, and promote teamwork.What We Look For in a CandidateRequired Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information systems or related field with 15+ years of relevant experience in integrated security architectures development and cloud technologies, or a Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience.Experience developing technical solutions to meet the OMB mandates, security standards and principles, CISA and GSA compliance requirements - while maintaining balance between functionality, performance, scalability and reliability.Experience in architecting the service provider-grade security infrastructure – with specific focus on Data Center network and compute infrastructure, Public / Private Cloud deployment models and management, Integrated network architectures, traffic load-balancing, virtualization, data analytics, event log management, threat detection / prevention and asset intelligence systems.Proficient with security tools and concepts such as firewalls, vulnerability scanning and management, multi-factor authentication, intrusion detection and prevention, Anti-Virus, Email and Messaging security, endpoint security, mobility management, SIEM.Familiar with Federal cloud security requirements, including FISMA, DCID, NIST policy frameworks and FedRAMP compliance standards.Strong work ethic and demonstrated self-starter with a high degree of energy, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude to achieve outstanding, timely, and quality results and operate at the highest levels of excellence and process efficiency.This role requires that a candidate is a U.S Citizen with the ability to obtain suitability and / or US Government personnel security clearance.Preferred Qualifications : Strong preference to candidates with SOC (Security Operations Center) infrastructure design and deployment experience.Working experience in large service provider Managed Security Services organization developing and supporting the security infrastructure.Experience working with government programs and contractors – security clearance is desirable.CompensationThis information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
