Managing Principal For Healthcare Studio

Dekker is seeking a Managing Principal to lead our Healthcare Studio. This visionary leader will drive strategic growth, client relationships, design excellence, and strategic pursuits across the entire studio. They provide leadership to teams within their industry of expertise, and ensure studio resilience through strong delivery, talent development, and operational alignment. This role connects industry strategy to execution, helping to position Dekker for sustained impact and shared success.

Responsibilities

• Owns the growth strategy, financial performance, and long-term resilience of the healthcare industry, aligning market direction with firmwide goals and practice priorities.
• Contributes to firmwide strategic planning while positioning healthcare for long-term growth, expanded market presence, and greater national impact through deep understanding of evolving expertise, market trends, and funding dynamics.
• Provides leadership and performance oversight for Principals and senior studio leaders, aligning teams around shared priorities while reinforcing quality, consistency, design excellence, and exceptional client experience.
• Builds and strengthens executive-level client and partner relationships, advancing strategic pursuits, long-term partnerships, and Dekker's reputation within the healthcare industry.
• Aligns healthcare industry strategy with operational execution to support strong project outcomes, sustainable growth, and consistent performance across the industry.
• Uses key performance indicators and market insights to guide decision-making, measure industry health, and improve growth, performance, and client satisfaction.
• Develops future industry leaders through mentorship, succession planning, and talent development that strengthen the long-term health and resilience of the studio.
• Acts as a firmwide leader and culture carrier, strengthening collaboration, accountability, and shared success across studios.
• Communicates industry trends, strategic priorities, and measures of success across the firm to support alignment, awareness, and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in design, with significant leadership experience within healthcare planning, design, and delivery.
• Proven success leading healthcare practices, studios, business units, or market sectors with responsibility for growth, profitability, and strategic direction.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business development strategies resulting in sustained revenue growth and expanded market presence.
• Established network of healthcare industry clients, partners, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, profitability, utilization, and key performance metrics.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence clients, executive stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop leaders, build high-performing teams, and support succession planning initiatives.
• Deep understanding of healthcare industry trends, regulatory requirements, funding mechanisms, and emerging opportunities.
• Industry-specific credentials such as EDAC and ACHA are preferred.
