Job description

Compliance Coordinator – Florida Operations Location:

  • Florida Department: Compliance Employment Type: Full-Time Exempt Pay: $40,000 - $50,000 Let’s Be Blunt Florida compliance is complex — and in cannabis, precision matters.
  • This role ensures our operations stay aligned with state law, OMMU regulations, and the unique requirements of Florida’s medical cannabis program.
  • About Mint Cannabis Mint Cannabis was founded in Arizona in 2016 and has quickly grown into multiple regulated markets.
  • We now operate 32 retail locations and five cultivation and production facilities across Arizona, Florida, Missouri, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Michigan.
  • As we continue to expand, we are looking for motivated professionals who bring organization, accountability, and strong administrative skills to support a high-performing compliance team.
  • We believe in investing in our people so they can best serve patients, customers, partners, and the communities where we operate.
  • Position Summary The Compliance Coordinator for Florida operations ensures regulatory adherence across retail, cultivation, and processing sectors.
  • This role demands practical knowledge of Florida’s medical cannabis laws under Section 381.986, F.S., and the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) rules, along with experience in submitting, monitoring, or interpreting Variance Requests.
  • A strong understanding of cannabis operations in cultivation, processing, and retail is also crucial.
  • Serving as a key link between the Compliance team and Operations leadership, this role ensures that compliance-driven decisions align with operational realities and that operational requests are accurately represented in regulatory filings.
  • The position also involves technical writing, SOP creation, audit responses, and coordinating regulatory corrective actions.
  • This is a high-impact role that demands strong writing skills, critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively across multiple facilities and with various departments.
  • Primary Responsibilities Regulatory & Variance Coordination Assist department leadership in preparing variance requests according to Section 381.986, F.S., and OMMU rules.
  • Coordinate among Leadership, Cultivation, Processing, and Retail teams to ensure variance requests accurately represent operational needs and compliance constraints.
  • Track variance submissions, monitor OMMU responses, and relay outcomes to relevant operational teams to ensure they understand the scope of the variance and how to implement operational and procedural changes resulting from approval.
  • Prepare and maintain organized, accessible guidance to assist operational teams in implementing changes required through the variance process.
  • Regulatory Response & Issue Resolution Assist in drafting responses to Notices of Violation and Requests for Information issued by OMMU.
  • Support monitoring and response efforts for Failed Certificates of Analysis (COAs), including reviewing data, assessing root causes, collecting documentation, and coordinating follow-up actions.
  • Monitors inspection reports and works closely with Retail Area Managers and Cultivation & Processing leadership teams to address compliance concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Operational Compliance Support Serve as a resource for OMMU regulatory requirements related to cultivation, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, transport, retail dispensing, and recordkeeping.
  • Identify regulatory risks, escalate concerns, and provide operational teams with guidance aligned with Florida law and internal policies.
  • Support operations managers with compliance inquiries, documentation requirements, and understanding of regulatory standards.
  • Technical Writing & Documentation Assist with drafting, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidance documents, compliance memos, and technical reference materials.
  • Ensure documents are accurate, compliant with current OMMU rules, and aligned across retail, cultivation, and processing departments.
  • Support version control, document distribution, and organization of compliance reference materials.
  • Audit Preparation & Ongoing Monitoring Ensure facilities are prepared for OMMU inspections, internal audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Monitor compliance performance, identify gaps, and work with facility managers to implement improvements.
  • Maintain detailed logs, compliance records, and documentation sources for Florida operations.

  • Attend internal meetings and assist with assigned cross-functional projects.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned to support ongoing regulatory and operational needs.
  • Qualifications Required Skills & Abilities Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in compliance or regulations.
