SUMMARY/SCOPE:
Reporting to the Associate Provost, the Market Research Analyst designs and implements statistical and analytical models to support the functions of the Office of Institutional Research and provides consultative support to external offices gained from quantitative and qualitative analysis. He or she works as a member of the Institutional Research team to provide data and information that supports decision-making and continuous institutional improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist to research and gather data from internal and external databases to survey students and others, and to analyze and assemble data in user-friendly formats.
Using R, SQL, Business Intelligence Tools, & Microsoft Office Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, visualizations, & power pivot/power query, the person will develop, implement, & revise advanced statistical & analytical models to facilitate productivity, efficiency, & student body success. Organize findings for presentation to university’s faculty, staff & trustees. Coordinate development of policies & procedures to support marketing research practices for institutions of higher education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills):
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Project Management software; Payroll systems; Order processing systems; Internet software and Contact Management systems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or a nationally recognized in business administration, market research, economics, finance, management, statistics, or related degree required; plus 1 year of experience (preferred); OR, alternatively, 2 or more years’ experience as market research analyst for post-secondary educational institutions using R, SQL, Microsoft Office Excel, or similar statistical & analytical software.
