  • Incorporate city, county, and special district standards into project designs, adapting to varying requirements by jurisdiction.
  • Coordinate with public infrastructure stakeholders, including utilities, drainage, traffic, and levee authorities, to ensure integrated and compliant designs.
  • Design and produce detailed construction documents for a wide range of infrastructure projects, including grading, site layout, drainage, utilities, and roadway elements.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to create, refine, and document civil engineering designs and plans.
  • Perform site development and land development design, including grading, site design, and utility layout.
  • Address drainage and traffic engineering considerations within project designs, integrating them into overall infrastructure plans.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, technical staff, and leadership to align project objectives, resolve design challenges, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage and multitask across multiple agency reviews, responding to late-stage review comments and adjusting designs as needed to maintain compliance and constructability.
  • Balance creativity with real-world constraints, developing designs that are buildable, cost-effective, and responsive to project-specific challenges and opportunities.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for civil design and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D for modeling, design, and production of construction documents.
  • Experience in the design and production of infrastructure construction documents.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, technical staff, and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design for infrastructure, site development, or related projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple reviews and design iterations while maintaining accuracy and compliance with agency standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on public-sector projects in areas such as education, healthcare, and municipal infrastructure.
  • site development, land development, and site design, including grading and utility layout.
  • Knowledge of drainage and traffic engineering principles as they relate to civil infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity with city, county, and special district design standards and approval processes.
  • Ability to balance creative problem-solving with practical, buildable, and cost-conscious design approaches.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a desire to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Work Environment

The role offers a hybrid work environment, with time split between the office and working from home after an initial 90-day period.
