Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in Open Web Steel Bar Joist design to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and analyzing steel joists in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications, supporting both manufacturing and sales operations.
Responsibilities:
• Design open web steel bar joists for commercial and industrial buildings in compliance with SJI (Steel Joist Institute) standards and project requirements.
• Perform structural analysis using engineering software and manual calculations.
• Collaborate with drafting, production, and project management teams to ensure accurate and efficient manufacturing processes.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to determine design criteria.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal departments and external clients.
• Ensure all engineering work meets applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (master’s preferred).
• PE license (or in progress) is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in steel joist design.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, SAP2000, STAAD, or similar).
• Knowledge of AISC and SJI standards.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
