Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Carpenter Tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for custom fabrication of exhibit components utilizing wood, plastic, laminates, and metal. Candidates with experience as a finish carpenter, custom cabinet builder, or set builder will excel in this role.ResponsibilitiesFabricate exhibit and tradeshow booths under the direction of the Shop Manager.Work with the Shop Manager on assigned fabrication projects to support exhibit assets.Assist with exhibit development and lead the carpentry aspect of the fabrication process.Construct carts and / or crates to ensure the safe transportation of exhibitions.Adapt to changing priorities as they dynamically shift.Handle heights as necessary; ladder work is common.Carry heavy equipment manually or using necessary equipment as applicable.Essential SkillsConstructionCarpentryGeneral laborFabricationMetalPlastic2+ years of experience in fabrication using wood, plastic, and metal, or related work; talented hobbyists are welcome.Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting equipment, bending, standing, climbing, and walking.Ownership of basic carpentry tools.Proficiency in various finished work such as laminate, melamine, and moldings.Ability to read and understand CAD drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.Basic knowledge of math and measurements.Experience with hand and power tools, and tape measures.Additional Skills & QualificationsCreativity and adaptability to move between different job departments.Deadline-driven and collaborative.Willingness to work overtime as requested through the holidays.Why Work Here?This is a great opportunity to work on a contract project while working with various materials.
