Job Overview
The Director of Information Technology is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure and ensuring the effective implementation of technology solutions. The Director IT oversees all aspects of technology strategy and operations within the construction company, ensuring that systems and solutions align with its unique needs. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of construction workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity across office and field operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills build strong relationships with internal customers to understand their needs and provide technology-driven solutions that empower the company to achieve its goals.
Duties
- Develop and implement an enterprise technology strategy supporting the company's mission and 2030 Vision.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of new technology systems and infrastructure.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends and recommend ways to incorporate them into our business processes.
- Manage and optimize the company's technology budget and resources, monitor expenditures and ROI for IT initiatives.
- Ensure the security and integrity of all technology systems and data.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT operations and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other department heads to identify technology needs and prioritize projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
- Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of new technologies and innovations.
- Evaluate and approve hardware, software, and service purchases.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Handle all aspects of Hardware and software procurement, commissioning and disposal.
Requirements
Proven experience in an IT leadership role, with a strong background in managing IT infrastructure. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or CISM) are a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
