Job Title : Manufacturing Test Systems Engineer
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 3pm to 11 : 30pm
Location : North Reading, MA
Pay Rate : $25.00 / hour to $33.00 / hour
Position Overview : This position will primarily focus on continuous improvement, root cause investigation, and support for manufacturing test systems. You will work closely with engineering, production, test engineers, and external vendors to deliver and support the highest quality products at the lowest cost.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide triage and investigation of novel manufacturing test issues on the production lines.
Analyze RMA units to determine failure root cause and corrective actions.
Drive continuous improvements in both test and repair processes.
Deploy new or duplicate systems to support test, calibration, and component upgrades.
Develop and execute a test system maintenance strategy, including backups, quick installs, system upgrades, patching, and disaster recovery.
Assist with editing and validating test system work instructions.
Develop training plans for test operators.
Write scripts to automate manual computer tasks.
Debug and analyze wired and wireless networking issues.
Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Use basic hand tools to replace and repair electro-mechanical assemblies. Qualifications :
4-year degree in engineering or 2-year technical degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
Solid working knowledge of basic electrical equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
Experience with Windows and / or Linux operating systems.
Knowledge and / or working experience with networking and wireless computer systems. Additional Responsibilities :
100% on-site to review the robots and how they interact with the software.
Responsible for general support to ensure full functionality on computers and robots.
Installing new applications as needed.
Respond to production team requests.
Ad-hoc duties as needed, such as updating documentation and some code updating for bugs.
Drive unit robots. Qualifications (Repeated for Emphasis) :
4-year degree in engineering or 2-year technical degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
Solid working knowledge of basic electrical equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
