Production Manager

The Production Manager will be an integral part of the team who will lead a team of Project Managers and Installation crews supporting multiple trades in the commercial interior construction space. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations of the business, this individual will have full responsibility for overseeing all project relationships, managing customer expectations across job sites, bringing projects to completion on time and under budget, maintaining high quality standards, and fostering a high-performance team-driven work culture that upholds our mission of providing best in the world project management and craftsmanship.

Founded in 1954, Bonitz, Inc. is an Employee-Owned Company operating as specialty trade commercial contractors servicing the construction industry. Bonitz designs and installs custom flooring, walls, ceilings, and cladding systems. We offer access, terrazzo and other specialty flooring as well as floor care. Bonitz has divisions in SC, NC, GA, TN, VA, LA, and FL.

Position Essential Duties:

  • Manage a team of 8-12 Project Managers and dozens of projects in the market.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of each project.
  • Ability to plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of multiple projects.
  • Recognize and mitigate all potential safety concerns on all active jobsites.
  • Meets and exceeds all safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction

  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with general contractors, end-use customers, and internal team members across the company.
  • Plans, coordinates, and oversees all tasks, critical dates, client and third-party interface and relations, as well as performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Construction

  • Supports Project Manager team relationships with General Contractors (GC).
  • Oversee field operations (manpower and installations) to guarantee the work is done per plans, per project specifications, and meeting completion schedules.
  • Coordinate multiple installation crews and maintain job schedules.
  • Assists in solving all varieties of project problems.

Post-Construction

  • Verify quality of installation, project scope completion, and Customer satisfaction.

Travel

  • Travel to various project sites required. A monthly car allowance will be provided as a company benefit. As well as a company gas card.
  • Potential overnight stays for projects may be required based on the travel distance and time spent on site.

Education/Experience and Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of Commercial Construction Project Management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and a motivated self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Proficient math and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with initiative and independence, as well as team environment.
  • The ability to manage a large staff, utilizing excellent leadership skills, providing professional development opportunities to staff, taking corrective action steps, and managing terminations.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable and confident in utilizing the technology necessary in this role (Microsoft D365 ERP software, UKG HRIS software, and various other software systems)
  • Willingness to evolve and continue learning to keep up with technology in the industry
  • Professional appearance and disposition.
  • Work with initiative and independence, as well as team environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Office 365 preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

  • Identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
  • Work in partnership with the Bonitz Risk Management Team to ensure that all safety training and certifications are up to date or scheduled effectively.
  • Stay compliant with all Bonitz safety polices to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Knowledge of requirements for necessary equipment, tools, and training per job.
