Job Description Summary he Senior Compensation Analyst will oversee all aspects of the University’s compensation plan and be responsible for the processes and analytics required to support compensation data administration.
This position is a collaborative member of the HR team. The incumbent will provide direction and consultation on all aspects of the University’s compensation plan.
The incumbent will also monitor and analyze workplace trends and best practices to develop and promote competitive and innovative compensation systems designed to attract and retain faculty and staff.
As applicable the position will advise leadership on best practices and legal changes pertinent to compensation.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of experience with compensation plan structures, establishing and / or revising compensation plan designs to support the strategic direction of an organization.
- 5 years of experience with job evaluation, revisions, and / or hierarchy establishment, determining classification according to FLSA and California employment classification regulations.
- 5 years of prior experience participating in and utilizing compensation / salary surveys.
- 5 years of public speaking and presentation skills with a wide variety of employee groups to present compensation data in a way that is easily understood by various groups
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationship with both internal and external clients.
- Excellent consulting skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment, with campus partners and leadership.
- Knowledge of salary surveys; working knowledge of CUPA survey strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of state and federal labor laws as related to compensation.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR (Professional is Human Resources) Certification, or SHRM-CP or SCP (Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional) or CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) is desirable.
- Experience or familiarity with Banner or another HR Management System a plus.
