We are seeking an experienced Environmental Resources Permitting Professional to Join its growing team of professionals.

The position will lead permitting efforts in the Energy Transmission and Distribution sector of our energy generation portfolio of projects.

The position's primary work environment is office (90%) and field (10%). Field sites may be outside, exposing the candidate to weather conditions and varying terrain.

Site visits or other meetings may involve long periods of time in a motor vehicle. Some occasional evening and / or weekend work is expected.

Responsibilities :

  • Application preparation and processing of Environmental Resources Permits through FDEP, WMDs, and local agencies as well the USACE throughout the Southeastern Florida.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with regulatory and permitting programs for state, federal and local levels of government, in Florida including Sovereign Submerged Lands, Joint Coastal Permitting, Environmental Resource Program, Coastal Zone Management reviews and Section 404 / 401 permitting for large and small projects including linear pipelines, ports and offshore construction projects.
  • Experience also in Section 106 Consultation, wetland delineations, wetland mitigation, and UMAM analysis.
  • The successful candidate will also have experience with agency coordination of potential impacts to threatened and endangered species of concern.
  • Knowledge of regulatory timeclocks, reviewing and preparing reports, agency submittals, and construction compliance.
  • Experience with USACE Section 408 permits helpful but not required.

Requirements :

  • B.S. in Biology, Ecology, environmental Science or other applicable field of study.
  • Minimum 5 years of Experience with Permitting in the State of Florida.
  • Must be willing to work on a team where roles are dynamic in nature and tasks may rotate or change daily.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail to collect data accurately and thoroughly.
  • Must be able to balance many tasks throughout the day.
  • Must be able to travel and work at remote sites as needed.
  • Must have excellent driving record within company standards.
  • Must be able to pass background screening requirements including criminal history, motor vehicle check, drug testing, etc.
  • Local candidates preferred; no relocation allowance is provided.
  • A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
