Supply Chain Analyst
Job Description
Performs a leadership role in regional peak demand / capacity planning to ensure continuity of supply in regional and global peak seasonality.
Responsible for short lead time volume segments that require additional supply chain oversight for service throughout business cycles.
Analyzes, develops recommendations for and executes changes to supply chain infrastructure, import / export logistics, supply chain synchronization, and definitions of global performance measurements.
Performs the collection, maintenance, analysis and reporting of supply chain and sales data in support of demand forecasting, capacity planning support and inventory strategy support.
Responsibilities Include :
Performs analysis in support of demand forecasting, identifying the total demand for goods and services throughout the region.
Collects and monitors monthly actual data (e.g., actual sales) to generate new statistical forecasts for demand. Measures forecast accuracy, analyzes root causes of variation, adjusts calculations and implements corrective actions with colleagues in Sales and Marketing.
Provides sales trending information to drive sales and operations planning.
Performs analysis in support of capacity / supply planning to ensure plans and schedules meet demand plans. Collaborates with producing plants and supplier operations to track and gather capacity data.
Collects, monitors, and analyzes work center capabilities data, rates, yields, capacities, utilization, and other production data.
Evaluates monthly data against actual data, analyzes root cause of problems and discrepancies, and recommends corrective actions.
Conducts on-going optimization of supply and distribution points to maximize service while minimizing total landed supply costs for every item.
Ensures MRP settings are appropriate and optimized to support the supply planning strategy for each SKU. Responsible for production equipment databases (i.
e., extrusion lines, printing presses, bag machines) to include capacity, output, product capability, and specifications for each to provide a continuous update for longer term capacity and capital planning.
Performs analysis in support of inventory planning. Determines the required quantity and availability of materials needed to meet the demand forecast schedule given planned capacity.
Collects monthly actual inventories and generates actual vs. plan metrics. Analyzes root cause of problems with sites and recommends corrective actions.
Analyzes SKU data and updates stocking and service policy recommendations for review with Sales, Marketing and Product Management.
Updates safety stock levels and ensures MRP settings reflect updated stock levels and service policies. Participates in monthly reviews of slow-moving, aged and obsolete inventory with Marketing and Product Management.
Performs data maintenance, generates reports, and optimizes data and reporting tools. Maintains Product and Service Offer (P&SO) database.
Generates forecast reports. Generates key performance reports including inventory, lead time performance, customer service response, and production compliance to sales, operations and master plans.
Develops reporting and tracking systems to monitor equipment rate, yield and utilization trends to aid in capacity planning, capital investment, and continuous improvement.
Supports on-going improvements in utilization of SAP tools, including BW, MIMI and APO. Responsible for short lead time business segments to predict and identify service improvements and issues to ensure consistent service through peak demand, holiday demand, and constrained capacity periods.
Qualifications
- Professional Supply Chain certification (in the process of earning or maintaining APICS CPIM or CSCP or equivalent) preferred.
- Keen focus to learn or improve ability to use Python, R, SQL, VBA, or other programming languages to automate processes and creating valued insight from big data is highly preferred
- User proficiency in SAP (or equivalent ERP) order management, demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory analysis.
- Additional Masters level education in business or sciences strongly preferred.
- Lean manufacturing skills strongly preferred in the areas of value stream mapping, single minute exchange of dies, short lead time and small lot manufacturing, and transitioning make-to-stock volume to make-to-order sales.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
