Electrical Engineer- Rotating Machine Design
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer (Rotating Machine Design) to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities :
You will design and analyze moderately complex electro-mechanical components and systems, for our power manufacturing facility, EMD (Electrical-Mechanical Division).
In addition, you will develop design information for use in reports, specifications, and drawings as well as direct support personal in product design, fabrication, and testing.

Your Challenge :
- Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training for new product and equipment. Assess new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results; conducts analysis and writes analysis and test reports.
Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes, with guidance, a variety of engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations.
- Designs new equipment and machinery. Capable of leading engineering teams through moderately complex technical issues.
Actively supports development of engineering planning for development of new designs and redesign efforts.
Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems.
Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.
- Performs engineering assignments in a timely manner under minimal guidance of a more senior engineer.
- Develop useful understanding and apply engineering software tools and systems (e.g., AA102, Ansys, MATLAB, MATHCAD, Flux2D, etc.
as necessary to complete assignments.
What you Bring :
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience
- 2D / 3D Electro Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, System Modeling (Mathcad, Matlab, Flux2D), Thermal Analysis
- Preferred experience in low frequency electromagnetic FEA software and circuit simulation in MATLAB / Simulink
- Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
