What you bring to the table
The Director of Safety at Beck plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, subcontractors, and the general public while overseeing the company safety policy and its adherence.
They are responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's comprehensive safety program.
Their main objective is maintaining a safe work environment, complying with regulatory requirements, and protecting the company's people and assets.
The Director of Safety collaborates closely with executive management, project teams, and external stakeholders to achieve safety goals and objectives.
The position involves the following essential functions :
- Manage overall direction and coordination of the HSE function on Total Installed Cost (TIC) large, complex projects; identify and approve HSE project plans and contractor pre-qualifications.
- Lead the development of Beck Zero Accident Plan
- Provide technical knowledge to project teams to manage current / future project safety and build safety compliant culture.
- Stay apprised of emerging S&H issues : legislative, regulatory, etc., and communicate with Corporate and business line managers.
- Respond and create corrective actions to significant safety events.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Lead comprehensive investigations : analyses of incidents / accidents / near-misses, generate detailed reports with data-driven recommendations for corrective actions and continual improvement initiative.
- Visit job sites regularly.
- Conduct regularly occurring 1 : 1s with direct reports in order to develop each individual to create a best-in-class safety team.
- Develop a learning curriculum for safety professionals to continue their career advancement.
- Partner with HR to create in-person and eLearning opportunities to promote a culture of safety company wide.
- effectively collaborate with operations leadership to implement safety protocols and procedures.
Who we think will be a great fit
A prove leader with extensive experience in Commercial construction Safety. Someone who is not only looking to meet the requirements but is continuously looking for ways to innovate and improve industry safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree Preferred.
- 15+ years of Safety Experience in Commercial Construction with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards (29 CFR 1926) for construction safety.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification within the last 2 Years is required, and additional relevant certifications are highly desirable.
- Ability to regularly travel to our regional offices.

Physical Demands :
- Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; occasionally ascends / descends ladders and stairs;
- constantly works in outdoor weather conditions; frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team;
constantly moving around job site; ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
