We are searching for a remote Staff Software Engineer, Embedded to support software activities as we develop new technologies for Fender products.
You are a self-starter, with a proven ability to continuously learn on your own.Essential Functions : Support new technology development from concept to mass productionManage, design, architect, and develop embedded firmware solutions following best practicesUtilize common test equipment to debug hardware and firmware issuesDefine tasks and deliver solutions within program schedule guidelinesIdentify bottlenecks in existing development processes and drive solutionsMaintain design documentation and deliverables using configuration control systemsCommunicate regularly with management on project status and risks Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required;
graduate degree in Engineering preferred7+ years of embedded system design experienceProficient in C / C++, object-oriented design, Git SCM, and Agile processesReal-time ARM and / or DSP software experienceDevice driver development experienceAbility to design and develop solutions based on written specificationsExperience authoring clear, concise requirements, specifications, and design documentationExperience in kernel level development and deployment of embedded Linux solutions preferredSystem-level analysis and architecture skills, understanding hardware / software trade-offs preferredPossesses a passion for audio recording, mixing, live sound, and / or musicExperience with network protocols and networked audio transport technologies (e.
g. AVB, Dante) highly desirableUnderstanding of mixed signal electronic design with an emphasis on audio preferredFPGA / CPLD Logic Design, Synthesis, and Simulation capabilities preferred
