Salary :
Starting at $18.00 an hour (Non-exempt)
About the Position :
To meet the health, welfare and safety needs of the residents, with direct supervision from the Unit Manager.
A Typical Day as a Residential Counselor :
- Interact with all residents; assist them in completing the daily routine
- Document all services delivered and track progress and plan for achievement of established goals
- Dispense all medications and treatments to residents in strict accordance with all medical protocols
- Complete assigned duties relative to hall functioning and ensure residents' adherence to all residential facility rules and regulations
Does the Following Apply to You?
- HS diploma, with relevant experience with youth and families (Required)
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Social Work, Human Service, or related field (Preferred)
- Child Welfare Experience (Preferred)
Additional Qualifications :
- Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Obtain an insured vehicle
- At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
