The Opportunity
We’re looking for a strategic, results‑driven Director of Sales & Business Development to accelerate BPDL’s growth in the U.S. market , with a primary focus on the New York and Boston regions . Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Engineering & Projects, you will be responsible for driving new business, expanding our project portfolio, and shaping the market’s understanding of precast solutions .
This role centers on three high‑impact objectives :
- Winning new projects and expanding BPDL’s U.S. backlog.
- Converting conventional projects into precast solutions by influencing key decision‑makers early in the process.
- Educating the market — owners, architects, engineers, and contractors — on the superior value of precast concrete.
This is a high‑visibility, growth‑oriented leadership role for a proven sales professional ready to make a measurable impact on BPDL’s U.S. expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Market Education & Advocacy
Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader in precast concrete solutions.Lead presentations, technical sessions, and lunch‑and‑learns for architects, engineers, developers, and public agencies.Collaborate with marketing to craft targeted campaigns, case studies, and digital content that highlight the advantages of precast (speed, cost, sustainability, durability, and design versatility).Business Development & Project Acquisition
Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities across the Northeast U.S.Lead the end‑to‑end sales cycle — from lead generation to proposal development, negotiation, and closing.Build and sustain long‑term relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and public entities.Conversion to Precast Solutions
Partner with estimating and engineering teams to develop proposals and value‑engineering strategies that convert traditional builds into precast systems.Position BPDL as the partner of choice early in the design and decision‑making process.Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
Develop and execute U.S.-focused sales strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives.Define KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to ensure accountability and results.Work cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and project management to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction .Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and client feedback to guide leadership decisions and product innovation.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related field); P.Eng or PE license preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or related roles, including 3+ years in leadership .Proven success in winning large, complex construction projects and converting them to precast solutions.Demonstrated ability to educate markets and drive adoption of new building technologies or systems.Strong network and experience in construction, building materials, or prefabrication sectors.Outstanding leadership, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Willingness to travel frequently across the Northeast U.S. and to BPDL’s Canadian facilities.Why Join BPDL?
