SUMMARY
The Human Resources Assistant will help ensure the efficient and productive operation of the Human Resources Department by performing the duties listed below.
This position is responsible for the maintenance of all personnel, medical, background and termination files in the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain all employees' and consumer workers' personnel, medical, background and termination files, and audit them annually.
- Maintain the confidentiality of appropriate HR records at all times. This includes both electronic records and hard copy (i.e. paper) records.
- Ensures personnel records are signed in and out when removed and returned from file cabinets
- Assist with the transfer of paper information to electronic form as needed.
- Communicate with employees who become eligible for insurance in a timely manner, ensuring enrollment ot waiver happens prior to deadline.
- Assist employee with understanding benefit options as needed.
- Participate in Open Enrollment activities including info sessions and individual employee assistance.
- Enter employee data in carrier portals when benefit changes occur at open enrollment as well as due to a life change or for new hire employees throughout the year.
- Help with new hire benefit training and enrollment.
- Ensure that data entered into employee records is accurate.
- Communicate changes to the payroll department as needed.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE A High School Diploma / GED. Experience working in an office setting preferred.
SCHEDULE
M-F 8 : 30a-5 : 00p (30 minute lunch)
SALARY
$17.60 / hr increases to $18.00 / hr after 6 months
