Mountain LTD. has an opening for a Network Engineer in the Nobleboro, ME area. Since 1979, Mountain Ltd. has successfully created and supported turnkey engineering solutions for traditional and wireless telecom providers across the United States.

Specialties include OSP / ISP engineering, design, permitting, right-of-way, and CAD for traditional and wireless telecommunications companies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Work closely with the Vice President of Operations on technical planning. Design, build and maintain Internet infrastructure supporting residential, commercial and enterprise customers.

Operate and maintain all legacy layer 2 and layer 3 equipment. This includes the Juniper QFX 5100 core switches and the Juniper MX480 core routers along with other supporting Juniper and Cisco routers.

Operate and maintain the Cisco DWDM network. Manage all aspects of Internet Transit and Peering. Ensure upkeep of maintenance and contracts of Internet systems and equipment.

Understand Internet edge services for DSL, FTTH provided by the Central Office. Understand firewall and security solutions for internal and external use.

Support of services of Hosted PBX, SIP Network Trunk and SIP PBX Trunk services ect.. from the Metaswitch® Softswitch. Interface with Central Office and Business Office to support service offerings, provisioning, technological and equipment needs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Perform other related duties as assigned including designated duties associated with System Restoration.

Procurement and ordering of equipment needed to support all above tasks. REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or other applicable technical degree.

The ideal candidate will have at least five to seven years of experience in the IT and IP fields. Expertise in Calix, Juniper, Cisco, DHCP and DNS Familiarity with BGP routing protocol.

The incumbent should be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on spreadsheets. Proficiency with applicable drawing tools to create system records and diagrams.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Must be able to walk and climb on terrain not always accessible by vehicle. May be required to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds.
