This is an exciting time to be in Salt Lake : a brand new $5.1B SLC International Airport expansion, a recently opened 700-key Hyatt Regency convention hotel, several new hotels in the development pipeline, population and business growth (Utah has been the fastest growing state in the nation since 2010, primarily driven by Salt lake), host of the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, and recently announced as the preferred host of the 2034 Winter Olympics Salt Lake is on fire, and we’re just getting started.
To capitalize on this incredible growth and to achieve Visit Salt Lake’s ambitious vision, we’re seeking a dynamic and innovative Programs and Grant Manager.
This position oversees VSL’s development programs, manages programmatic initiatives, and coordinates with corporate partners for events and programs.
Responsibilities include overseeing grant initiatives and programs submitted through the IMPACT fund, identifying grant opportunities, writing proposals, managing grant compliance, ensuring program objectives are met, and collaborating with corporate partners to enhance program impact and visibility.
Primary Responsibilities :
Program Management :
- Manage the CTAA program between Visit Salt Lake and participating CTAA hotels and regional stakeholders, working to enhance collaboration and cooperation to drive tourism growth and development.
- Coordinate the CTAA regional and executive committee process and reporting.
- Oversee the implementation of programmatic initiatives, ensuring program objectives are met within the specified timelines.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery and impact.
- Evaluate program outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.
Grant Management :
- Manage IMPACT Salt Lake grant application process for initiatives and programs submitted via grant application.
- Manage the process and implementation for all grant applications.
- Manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely reports are submitted to funders.
- Monitor grant expenditures and work with the finance team to ensure compliance with grant budget and financial reporting requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date grants calendar and database to track grant applications, awards, and reporting deadlines.
Event Management :
- Plan and oversee events related to programs and corporate partnerships, including logistics, marketing, and participant engagement.
- Work with the development and communications teams to promote events and ensure they align with the organization's fundraising and outreach objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, program administration, and event management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated success in securing grants and managing funded programs.
- Experience in developing and managing corporate partnerships and events.
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with project management software Asana, a plus.
- Knowledge of funding sources, trends in philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
