General Description :

The Pool Snack Bar (PSB) Chef is responsible for managing all aspects of the Pool Snack Bar kitchen from prep, cleanliness, and opening and closing procedures.

This role will be creating menu items such as salads, grilling burgers, chicken, and quesadillas, and ensuring they meet member expectations and satisfaction.

Essential Functions :

  • Manage all aspects of our members’ needs as they relate to culinary, recipes, plating guides, and sanitation standards.
  • Prepare, assemble, and present food safely and promptly.
  • Consult daily with Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Sous Chef for daily menu execution preparation tasks.
  • Assist Executive Culinary Team in communications with the Culinary and PSB Leads and PSB Attendants.
  • Keep the kitchen neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Follow set recipes as instructed by Executive Chef.
  • Practice sanitation and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Contribute to the positive atmosphere and culture of the kitchen.
  • Complete opening and closing tasks as assigned.
  • Participate, support, and make recommendations for the PSB with continuous improvement in products and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Ability to read recipes and follow their instructions.
  • Ability to physically self-demonstrate culinary techniques, i.e., cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, and safety.

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs daily.
  • Constantly walks, stands, reaches, bends, lifts, carries and stoops
  • Frequently washes hands Ability to work in a hot environment outdoors for the duration of work shift.
  • May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces.

Education / Experience :

  • High school or equivalent education preferred.
  • Experience working in food and beverage is a plus.

Hours / Schedule :

Our Pool Snack Bar Line Cook must be available during the hours of 8 : 00 am-8 : 30 pm. This position will have rotating shifts ranging from Tuesday through Sunday.

Work Environment

  • Noise level in the environment can be occasionally loud
  • Indoor and outdoor ability to tolerate all seasonal weather conditions
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced, high-end, sophisticated environment
  • May occasionally walk on slippery and wet surfaces
  • Working with a small team
