Human Resources Manager
Position Overview :
Our client is looking for their next HR Manager. The Human Resources Manager serves as the primary contact for all HR-related matters.
The Human Resources Manager will report directly to the CEO, and work closely with the leadership team and employees.
In this role, the HR Manager works directly with all department management, supervisors and general employee population on a daily basis.
to ensure day-to-day HR needs are being met. The HR Manager should be a strategic decision-maker, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This role requires exercising discretion in problem-solving and maintaining confidentiality. The HR Manager is also responsible for the training and development initiatives and coordinates closely with the Safety Manager on safety programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan, organize, and direct all functions of the Human Resources Department.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal laws regarding HR practices including FMLA, HIPPA, ERISA, FLSA and other required labor laws.
- Manage recruitment and hiring processes, including but not limited to candidate sourcing, candidate screening, offer letter creation, background checks and onboarding.
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment sources and employment agencies.
- Develops employee benefit programs by reviewing national benefit trends and making recommendation to CEO on plan design, costs and employee payroll contributions
- Administer performance management programs and manage on and off-cycle compensation programs.
- Handle all personnel paperwork related to terminations, promotions, and data changes.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and represent the company in grievance hearings and arbitrations with various members of the leadership team as necessary.
- Conduct and manage investigations related to employee relations and approve employee discipline as needed.
- Manage the company's quality assurance program related to employment policies and various HR documentation, including internal and external audits.
- May occasionally present to the Board of Directors on various aspects relating to the HR function at Skyway.
- Miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
Experience :
- 5+ years of human resource experience with knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union environment preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of personnel practices, methods and techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
- Working knowledge of both state and federal labor laws.
- Knowledge of wage and salary administration.
- Knowledge of the principals of supervision, organization and administration.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
