Description

The St. Louis Market Leader serves as the face of Medica in the Market, building and enhancing relationships with providers, brokers, community and members.

This senior leader will be accountable for developing and executing strategic growth plans for a defined geographic region based on Medica's corporate objectives.

Key Accountabilities Include :

Developing and executing a local market strategy

  • Develops and drives the regional growth and retention strategy. Supports achievement of annual revenue and growth targets for each product line
  • Understands the needs of the market
  • Monitors and analyzes competitor behavior, pricing structure, performance, strategy, and product offerings
  • Recommends modifications or new products / services to strengthen Medica's competitive position.
  • Identifies market threats, opportunities, trends, new entrants (product or competitor), and provides feedback to local and corporate leaders

Establishing Medica's brand in the market

  • Prepares market for additional product entry
  • Leads the identification, prioritization, initiation and evaluation of relationships with various stakeholders throughout the market's service area
  • Develops strong relationships with the broker community and educates them on Medica's brand, mission, vision, and values in addition to product and network benefits
  • Creates and shares value proposition
  • Develops relationships with key providers and assists the Network Management team with building networks and ACO partnerships
  • Identifies opportunities to create unique and strategic partnerships with employer organizations
  • Coordinates with sales, marketing, and segment leaders on the outreach strategy for the market
  • Collaborates with the Government Relations team in establishing relationships with key regulators and policy makers

Prioritization and collaboration across the enterprise as well as external key stakeholders is critical to our success. This requires direct (sales) and indirect (matrix) leadership of all internal and external teams working on behalf of the region.

We are seeking candidates who currently reside in St. Louis, MO.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or finance or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a health plan, care system, or broker agency
  • 5+ years of experience directly managing staff, including the ability to attract, hire, train, and develop a high performing team
  • A demonstrated successful track record of managing customer, provider, or broker relationships of varying sizes, locations, complexities, and sophistication
  • Market knowledge of the St. Louis area

  • Results focused, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; strong customer presence, customer service orientation and project leadership
  • Executive presence

Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and / or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.

In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
