Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Architectural Designer / Drafter in Phoenix, AZ . In this role, you will provide design services to the Facilities Department including but not limited to space plan concepts, design, and RFP’s.
The ideal candidate must be a creative, detail driven, team player, able to work independently, yet be accountable to and interested in the bigger picture.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be equally skilled in Revit + AutoCAD as well as a fast learner. You will assist the team to achieve high-quality and on time projects, while keeping your eyes open for innovative opportunities to improve the process, plan, or project.
You will be responsible for
- Generating conceptual space plans, sketches, and diagrams for new facilities and remodel projects
- Producing drawings, specifications, and developing design ideas
- Participating in field observations, recording as-built conditions, and translating into record drawings
- Organizing and maintaining construction as-built plans and accurate as-built CAD records and file system
- Maintaining accurate space plan and occupancy information for staff, furnishings, building systems, voice and data infrastructure, and security systems
- Knowledge of building codes, materials, and products
- Generating and maintaining accurate evacuation plans, life safety systems, and Environmental Health and Safety drawings for compliance programs
- Documenting and maintaining drawings for standard operating procedures for Facilities and Operations
- Collaborating with local staff and interfacing with contractors world-wide
You will have the following skills and qualifications
- or . in Engineering, Architecture or equivalent technical school, and at least 3 years of related experience
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD and have a working knowledge of Revit (other graphics design software knowledge is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and safety codes and regulations, including ADA, IBC, and NFPA
- Knowledge of buildings and structures issues, architectural design, electrical, mechanical, and building electronics related to office and R&D laboratory space planning and design
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment
