Terminal Operator

Summary : The purpose of this position is to move finished product in and out of the termina l in a timely, cost - effect i ve and safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following , other duties may be assigned.

• Receive product including the monitoring vessel unloading and coordinating truck deliveries.
• Load customer trucks and arrange for delivery of product
• Generate bills of lading for truck loading.
• Assist the Termina l M anager with day - to-day office activities and other specia l projects.
• Assume terminal manager responsibilities during vacations and other work interruptions.
• Monitor the load out of product to customers .
• Daily reconciliation of shipping reports
• Physically maintain and repair equipment and faci liti es through preventive maintenance.
• Practice and observe that the terminal is in compliance w ith safety and environmental standards.
• Perform duties to ensure proper appearance of facility including general cleanliness , landscaping and janitorial duties .
• Safety and Security : Observ es safety and security procedures ; Determines approp r iate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions ;

Uses equipment and materia l s properly.

Adaptability : Ad apts to changes in the work environment ; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to be s t fit the situation;

Able to deal with frequent change, delay s, or unexpected events.

Education and / or Expe rien ce : One year cert ifi cate or trade schoo l wit h one to two years related experience and / or training ;

or equivalent combination of education, experience and mechanical ability.

Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret document s such as safety rul es, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization .

Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages , area , circumference, and volume.

Ability to app l y concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to so lv e practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variab l es in sit uation s where only limited stan dardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral , diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software ; In terne t software;

Inv entory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities : Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills . Contributes to pos sible improvements at terminal.
