Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is looking for a Senior Project Manager, Information Technology PMO Hybrid Schedule (3 days a week in the office).

SUMMARY

This position will provide day-to-day support of the Information Technology (IT) Project Management Office (PMO), play a lead role in company-wide transformation efforts, and report to the Director, IT PMO.

As the Senior Project Manager for IT, you will work with IT and business unit teams to establish and be jointly accountable for delivering project objectives and timelines.

This includes managing IT projects involving complex business processes, taking these projects from idea to full implementation, and tracking and reporting on progress to various audiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive weekly IT PMO cadence by coordinating and preparing materials, facilitating the meetings, coordinating agendas so the correct topics are discussed, and tracking assigned action items.
  • Project Manage critical cross-functional transformation implementations and ensure that projects meet users’ business needs and expectations of quality.
  • Develop, manage, and deliver multiple IT projects from beginning to end, including project scope, timeline, capacity planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
  • Provide project management and direction to ensure the project team has a clear understanding of timelines, risks, escalation path and roles / responsibilities they will undertake within the project team.
  • Collaborate with Director, IT PMO, and business leadership teams in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Track the execution of various IT projects across BUs measuring the attainment of goals, and adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills while preparing and disseminating IT PMO reports, SteerCo briefings, C-suite reports, and general organization updates.
  • Manage pipeline progress (knows the pipeline and what potential roadblocks exist) and mentors others when projects are off track.
  • Has or is able to attain the business unit domain expertise required to collaborate across the multifunctional project team.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with project teams and business partners.
  • Know the organization well and is proactive in finding individuals that can assist in eliminating roadblocks.
  • Challenge the pace, ambition, and performance of IT PMO project teams and bring awareness of issues that will impact project completion timeline, scope, or cost.
  • Pro-actively seek to identify and communicate any schedule and budget risks.
  • Ability to create documentation such as, but not limited to : SOPs, How-To’s, and Process Training, etc.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and / or Human Resources.

  • Perform other related duties, as directed by IT Leadership team.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of 3rd parties.
  • Travel - 10% throughout the Americas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

The candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities required.

Education and Experience : Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Project Management, Engineering, or related field.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant work in IT, engineering, and / or project management is required. Candidates should have practical experience in the basics of project management : estimation, project planning, resource planning, issue management, risk management, change management, communication planning.

PMP Certification is preferred.

Special skills / training / certifications :

  • Project Management proficiency : Knowledge in all phases of project management. Must be able to effectively employ contemporary project management tools.
  • Documentation : General skills in creating comprehensive process documents (AS-IS, TO-BE), business cases and business requirements documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and instructional materials (How To's).
  • Computer skills : Proficiency in Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Project.

Advanced skills with specialized scheduling applications with emphasis on Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Power BI.

Experience with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), Windchill, SharePoint SPO, and SAP is desirable.
