Job Description
McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for an Environmental Scientist to join our growing Energy / Utilities group. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment.
We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in a hybrid remote office environment.
Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required. This position will include both field and office assignments.

- Conduct delineations of Waters of the U.S. (including wetlands) in accordance with current regulatory requirements and guidelines, prepare supporting documentation, and conduct Jurisdictional Determinations (JD)
- Conduct stream, wetland, and wildlife habitat assessments
- Assist with environmental regulatory and permitting processes and agency permit applications including but not limited to wetland / waterway permitting and the Endangered Species Act (federal and state)
- Perform environmental assessment studies for permitting, wetland / stream delineations, watershed assessments, water quality permitting, and preparation of environmental documentation
- Compliance Monitoring of construction and operations
- Assist with compilation of various environmental documentation for multi-disciplinary projects
- Utilize GPS, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office for project data collection, analysis, and reporting
Qualifications
- No prior experience required; however, candidates with 3 years of experience are preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources or a related field
- Technical and field experience preferred in wetland delineation and other natural resource surveys, environmental data collection, compliance monitoring and environmental permitting
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance and documentation, and experience with field work (natural resource assessments) preferred
- Detailed knowledge of Erosion and Sediment Control Practices
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
- Strong ability to work in a team environment
- Must have the ability to work in the field in different weather conditions
- Must be able to physically navigate in the field
- Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required.
