Assistant Kitchen Manager - Gahanna, OH.
Assistant General Manager, Full-Time
Pay : $40,000 - 50,000 annually
Location : 300 S. Hamilton Road, Gahanna, OH 43230 (Located inside of the Kroger Grocery Store)
Kitchen United is looking for an ambitious and service-oriented Assistant General Manager. You will be responsible for managing your team and the Kitchen Center, extending out the principles of excellent service to between 10-15 restaurant brands all operating under one roof.
Similarly, you’ll be interacting with Delivery Service Provider drivers, guests that visit our front of house and vendors that help keep your center running smoothly.
It’s an important role and one which demands a lot of strong leadership qualities and operational expertise.
Your top 3 priorities are as follows :
- Direct your Team members to provide memorable experiences for your guests, teams, and members
- Use discretion and independent judgment to support your General Manager
- Determine necessary work to deliver operational excellence
Responsibilities
Operations (30%)
- Coordinating and managing all activity associated with the operational objectives of each Kitchen Center.
- Overseeing weekly inventory and ordering of cleaning and operating supplies and confirming amounts and types of materials, supplies, and machinery to be used when necessary.
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures;
complying with legal regulations; developing and implementing disaster plans; by reinforcing Department of Health and Labor law regulations and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
- Fostering great relationships and assisting with restaurant partners, 3rd party delivery drivers, vendors and being a key part of our member services team providing excellent support to our member partners .
- Addressing guest and restaurant partner concerns and issues in real time.
- Frequent use of tools and processes to manage onboarding and training. Examples are; Google Suite, Jolt (digital clipboard), ADP
Supervisory (70%)
- Participating in recruiting, interviewing, selecting and onboarding new employees.
- Providing input and creating a weekly staff schedule and managing shift changes, sick calls, over time etc.
- Assisting General Manager in the performance management process. Including but not limited to : disciplining employees in accordance with Kitchen United’s work expectations policy and administering disciplinary action, including termination, as appropriate.
- Addressing employee, guest, and restaurant partner concerns and issues in real time.
- Providing input on 90 day, semi-annual and annual performance reviews for team members.
- Supporting the development of the team by leading through example and coaching the values and traits that we seek in all of our excellent Kitchen United employees.
- Assisting with training, coaching and delegating and apportioning work to your team to meet the highest of standards in service, cleanliness, food safety and task completion while providing clear direction & support to deliver them.
- Motivating your team to understand their role and team culture that we live & breathe while incentivizing and rewarding the best performers for outstanding contribution.
- Frequent use of tools and processes to manage facility finances. Examples are; PowerBI, PlateIQ, Google Suite, Market Man (back office, inventory).
Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience as a line cook in a high volume, fast paced cooking environment.
- ANSI (ServSafe) Certified Food Handler certification or equivalent required by the local municipality.
- Working knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Familiar with industry’s best practices for food handling, safety, and sanitation
- Ability to read, understand and execute recipes and builds.
- At least 2 years of kitchen management experience as a lead or supervisor
- Basic knowledge of technology like; tablets, computers, POS printers, KDS monitors, DSP tablets and services
- Experience cooking Asian and Latin cuisines.
- Experience with scheduling
- Experience with ordering and inventory management
- Must have open schedule availability - expected hours of work. Mon (6am-10pm) Tues-Sun (8am-10pm)
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, and Slides)
