Position Summary
Would you like to work closely with advanced engineers from many of the leading companies in automotive and other industries, who use our software to accelerate their product development and reduce their environmental impact?
We are looking for a creative, talented, and self-starting intern to join our Application Engineering and Support Group to help us built proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate cutting edge software solutions and to leverage the knowledge learned from these interactions to continuously improve our software.
Specifically, we are looking to add someone to our electrical applications engineering team. This team supports customers and designs software with applications in battery, motor, and power electronic systems.
For battery modeling applications, Gamma Technologies offers GT-SUITE for multi-physics simulation and analysis and GT-AutoLion for electrochemical modeling.
Together, these tools offer our users the ability to predict the performance, degradation, and safety of Lithium-ion cells, modules, and packs.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate cutting edge software solutions to prospective customers.
- Use your experience to design and test new product features.
- Help evangelize the critical role GT plays in helping automotive companies on the Road to Net Zero Emissions.
Education, Experience and Skills
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
- BS degree in mechanical, chemical, or material science engineer (or similar).
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of Lithium-ion technology including construction, degradation, and applications.
- Desired GPA for students is 3.5.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
Additional Qualifications Desired :
- Experience with cell-level simulation including Newman Pseudo-2D approaches.
- Experience with pack-level simulation including electro-thermal approaches.
- Deep knowledge of Lithium-ion technology and its applications.
- Experience with automotive applications, including design, measurement and instrumentation, controls, and / or SAE projects (Formula SAE, Formula SAE Electric, EcoCAR, etc.).
