Join our South Texas Health System Clinics (formerly Valley Care Clinics) team! Providers with South Texas Health System (STHS) Clinics deliver high quality family medicine, health screenings and advanced specialized care to the people of the Rio Grande Valley. Our clinics are affiliated with South Texas Health Systems’ four acute care hospitals, behavioral health hospital, six freestanding emergency rooms and one joint venture hospital. Specially trained and highly experienced, our physician group treats a wide range of conditions using advanced technologies and minimally invasive techniques.

The Administrative Assistant provides and oversees a wide variety of clerical and specialized administrative functions that may be of a critical or confidential nature. Delivers administrative support on projects that are moderate in scope and complexity with primary responsibilities that include capturing, preparing, and composing data for the IPM Leadership Team. The Administrative Assistant offers a developed level of professionalism to interact effectively within a diverse environment and accomplishes tasks and projects as assigned that require independent thinking, creative analysis, and minimal supervision.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists with Hospital Privileges and Credentialing
- Payor Enrollment and Credentialing
- Screens telephone calls, receives, and directs visitors, and resolves routine inquiries.
- Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments and schedules including travel itineraries.
- Coordination of internal meetings with outside vendors and management to include booking conference rooms, conference call information and at times meal planning.
- Prepares and distributes minutes of meetings, handling confidential information with discretion.
- Assists in revisions, formatting and editing of guidelines, policies and procedures and maintains the most updated version in appropriate database.
- Provides clerical support (filing copying, mailings, etc.)
- Organizes education programs for staff as directed by the IPM Leadership Team. May assist in Market programs, projects, and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School graduate/ equivalent required.
- Technical School/ 2 Years College/ Associates Degree preferred.
- Minimum (3 years) experience using advanced computer skills and coordinating projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
- Experience in healthcare billing preferred.
- Service-oriented/ customer-centric with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ablility to multi-task
- Possess time managament skills to meet established time frames
