Our client, a growing real estate company in the Fort Lauderdale area, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their growing team. This is an excellent organization with a large portfolio of properties, and this Assistant Controller will join a well-groomed team. Salary / Hourly Rate :
$120k
Position Overview :
The Assistant Controller will handle all aspects of accounting and reporting corporate entity. Dozens of smaller entities and properties roll up into the corporate books.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller :
- The Assistant Controller will analyze the general ledger, calculate accruals, and prepare journal entries.
- Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and analyze variances.
- The Assistant Controller will provide monthly P&L commentary and variance analysis.
- Assist in the internal and external audits.
- The Assistant Controller will manage relationships and liaise with external customers (Operations and Finance team, auditors).
- Participate in projects to continue to improve the close process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Record monthly accrual entries.
- Assist with reviewing and reconciling the general ledger.
- Take charge of payables, writing checks, posting entries, bank recs, monthly financials, working audits, and intercompany transactions.
- Understand how government money is funded and the regulations under the government.
- Oversee the development arm of the business income. Refinance of assets, construction, lots of finance sourcing, construction draws, and flows up to consolidated reports.
