Senior Software Developer

Job Summary :

The Senior Software Developer will support the operation and maintenance of enterprise-level Air Force aircraft communications, equipment maintenance, and training simulation systems. The applicant will use industry standard development and programming practices to perform design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of software and applications that comprise these systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Utilizes COBOL, HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell , MS SQL, Unisys openDMS , MS Visual Studio, and SQL Studio Manager to deliver technical systems support
  • Understands Cloud One (MS Azure) environment
  • Prepares detailed specifications and other documentation used to write and evaluate software programs
  • Conducts reviews and assessments to ensure products meet contractual requirements
  • Participants in and conducts technical interchange meetings , design sessions , and unit testing efforts
  • Provides software development sustainment for aircraft maintenance applications
  • Uses industry-standard software development practices to identif y requirements and develop solutions
  • Creates and delivers reports to communicate performance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Executes quality control s to meet and maintain established software development standards
  • Champions a collaborative, team-based environment, sharing standard methodologies, and building positive relationships

Required Abilities / Experience :

  • 5 + years related program ming and development experience
  • Experience with COBOL and other programming languages such as C#, HTML, JavaScript, MS SQL , MS Visual Studio, and SQL Studio Manager
  • Self-driven with the ability to manage workload without direct supervision
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and act to minimize their impact
  • Desired Abilities / Experience :

  • Demonstrated ability to implement a gile development methodologies , tools, and p rocesses in an operational environment
  • E xperience e xecut ing within a customer-centric environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum Education :

  • HS diploma with 9 years’ IT experience
  • Associates with 7 years’ IT experience
  • Bachelor’s with 5 years’ IT experience
  • Job Stipulations :

  • Must o btain and maintain a Secret l evel security clearance
  • Must m aintain DOD 8570 required c ertification , CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
  • Must be able to work o nsite as needed at government or contractor f acility locations
  • Must be compliant with DOD v accination policies
  • Physical Requirements :

    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
