Job description

What if your programming launched the next breakthrough?

Imagine your toolpaths powering mission-critical parts for jets, defense systems, and life-saving devices. At B&A Precision, a CNC job shop with over five decades of experience, that’s the everyday reality. As our CAD/CAM Manufacturing Programmer – Precision CNC, you’ll report to the Shop President and turn drawings into disciplined, repeatable processes that deliver quality on schedule.

Picture your first month

  • Plan processes for both new programs and repeat customer orders, mapping every step from raw stock to final inspection.
  • Lay out inspection sheets the team can trust on the floor—clear, concise, and actionable.
  • Program lathes and mills to hit spec the first time:
    • 2- and 3-axis lathes
    • Lathes with bar feeders
    • 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills
  • Select and order the cutting tools and holders that balance performance and cost.
  • Determine and procure workholding—lathe jaws and milling fixtures—to lock in stability and accuracy.
  • Guide NPI first-article lots to approval, validating every step.
  • Partner with scheduling to sequence work for on-time delivery.
  • Jump onto the floor to troubleshoot when a process needs a fresh set of eyes.
  • Push programs and updates via CAD/CAM and DNC systems for smooth data flow.
  • Pitch in on estimates for new business opportunities.
  • Deploy basic Lean principles to reduce waste and tighten cycles.
  • Where your judgment matters

    • Special processes: practical knowledge of NDT, heat treatment, and coatings for aerospace, defense, and medical parts.
    • Materials: proven experience machining stainless steel and aluminum.
    • Core skills: blueprint reading, machining fundamentals, and CNC programming that aligns method with print.

    Credentials & fit

    • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent, relevant experience considered.
    • Comfortable in CAD/CAM software environments with DNC connectivity.

    Compensation & schedule

    • Full-time, 1st shift
    • Extremely competitive salary

    Benefits that back you up

Medical benefits, company-matching 401(k), paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick days.

    Why your work matters

Your blueprint reading, machining knowledge, and programming will safeguard product compliance and delivery, strengthen production flow, and reinforce B&A Precision’s commitment to excellence built over 50+ years.
