Actual compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and other relevant qualifications.Position OverviewThe controller will handle high-level accounting and oversee all financial activities and reporting for the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting including general ledger, payroll, tax compliance and external audits. Reports to the chief financial officer. Assists with development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning.This role is a primarily on-site position Monday - Friday 8 hours/day (excluding lunch break). Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required. Flexible start time between 7:00 am - 9:00 am with a consistent schedule.Responsibilities and DutiesOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and preparation of financial statements and management reports.Manage cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.Maintain and optimize NetSuite ERP system, including accounting processes, reporting, workflows, and controls.Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.Partner with Operations and leadership on manufacturing costs, pricing, customer profitability, capital expenditures, and business decisions.Maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Coordinate audits, tax filings, and other financial compliance requirements.Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to the CFO, leadership team, and investors.Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance/accounting team.Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and financial controls as the company grows.Additional duties as neededRequirements and QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience.Strong hands-on NetSuite experience a plusBiopharma, life sciences, CDMO, or regulated manufacturing experience preferredExcellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office SuiteExceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAnalytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendationsAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and partner with senior leadership.Argonaut Manufacturing Services, Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability, or any other class protected by Federal, State or local laws.
