Summary:
Join PG&E's Electric Compliance organization as a Senior Regulatory Compliance Analyst. This hybrid position offers flexibility with a requirement to be in the office 3 days a week, depending on business needs. In this role, you will act as a vital subject matter expert, developing, interpreting, and implementing regulatory strategies that enhance compliance and operational readiness.
Your focus will be on the Policy Scanning and Requirements Management and Strategic Planning functions. You will lead the analysis of complex state and federal regulatory developments, conduct horizon scanning for emerging legislation and policy trends, and translate these insights into actionable internal obligations. Collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Law, and Regulatory Affairs will be key to ensuring regulatory clarity and accountability in daily business practices, all while upholding PG&E's commitment to safety, reliability, and wildfire mitigation excellence.
Salary Range:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000
California Minimum: $120,000
California Maximum: $190,000
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of compliance programs centered on regulatory requirements, internal standards, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to identify regulatory requirements, assess changes, and ensure alignment with internal controls and processes.
- Perform horizon scanning to track emerging legislation, policy developments, and regulatory trends influencing PG&E's compliance programs.
- Draft and maintain compliance documentation, guidance materials, and tools for tracking evidence to support audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries.
- Monitor compliance and risk performance metrics, perform validations, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
- Participate in efforts to ensure PG&E stays ahead of regulatory mandates from agencies such as CPUC, OEIS, FERC, and CAISO.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform regulatory obligations into actionable processes, integrating compliance into everyday operations.
- Contribute to regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of responses and documentation requests.
- Support the creation of compliance dashboards and analytics to improve evidence quality and oversight.
- Assist in leading root-cause analyses to develop controls that mitigate compliance risks.
- Share insights and updates with leadership and colleagues to foster awareness and collaboration across the Electric Compliance organization.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, public policy, finance, engineering or a related field or equivalent utility industry experience.
- Five years of relevant work experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, internal controls, and regulatory analysis methods.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify compliance trends, and clearly communicate findings.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with experience managing multiple projects in a matrixed environment.
- Proficiency in compliance and data analysis tools for tracking and reporting.
- Master's degree or equivalent advanced education.
- Eight or more years of experience in compliance, regulatory strategy, or utility operations.
- Expertise in interpreting regulatory requirements related to electric operations, safety, and wildfire mitigation.
- Experience leading enterprise-level compliance initiatives or audits.
- Familiarity with compliance management and data analytics tools.
- Recognized as a trusted advisor in regulatory interpretation and compliance strategy.
