Since its founding in 1984, CEI has expanded into a full-service construction and environmental remediation provider with operations in Anchorage (AK), Colorado Springs (CO), Fairbanks (AK), and Las Vegas (NV), and projects spanning the U.S. and globally. We specialize in general contracting, civil site work, underground utilities installation, environmental and demolition services. About this position: Field Superintendent Location – Anchorage, AK The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and within budget. Enforce company safety policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards. Direct and supervise daily construction activities on assigned projects. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors. Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance. Monitor quality control and workmanship throughout all phases of construction. Develop, maintain, and update construction schedules. Conduct daily site inspections and coordinate correctie actions as needed. Lead project meetings, toolbox talks, and progress updates. Manage subcontractor’s performance and compliance with contractual obligations. Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and equipment utilization. Track project progress and communicate schedule impacts, risks, and issues to management. Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documents. Interface with owners, clients, engineers, inspectors, and government representatives. Promote a positive team environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity. Train, mentor, and oversee field personnel. Handle employee personal information Coordinate with Human Resources on an as needed basis Work directly with Project Management and assist with project coordinating Execute Purchase Orders Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors Complete credit card statements Assist with transferring personnel from project to project Schedule housing and travel for project to project Code and approve invoices Manage project billing Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements: Level of Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional construction management education preferred Level of Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional construction management education preferred. Minimum 10–12 years of construction industry experience. Minimum 5–6 years of superintendent or field supervision experience. Experience leading commercial, civil, industrial, or federal construction projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, safety requirements, and quality control. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Excellent leadership and communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience coordinating subcontractors and project stakeholders. Knowledge of construction scheduling and project documentation. Ability to identify and mitigate construction risks. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead teams effectively Physical Requirements Ability to work on active construction sites in various weather conditions. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting. Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and navigate uneven terrain. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to travel as required by project needs. Work Environment Construction job sites, industrial facilities, and outdoor environments. Exposure to weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment operations. Additionally, they may be asked to travel to jobsite via light-duty vehicle, small aircraft, or marine vessel.
