Job Title: Assembler / Manufacturing Associate IJob Description

The Assembler / Manufacturing Associate I works in a structured manufacturing environment, following routine direction from supervisors and leads to assemble products according to detailed assembly instructions and process specifications. This role focuses on producing high-quality mechanical products by setting up equipment, assembling components to meet specifications and build schedules, and supporting shipping processes. The position requires consistent adherence to standardized procedures, a strong commitment to safety and quality, and the flexibility to take on additional duties as needed in a dynamic production setting.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and follow established work procedures, assembly instructions, and all provided directions.
  • Understand and apply LEAN Manufacturing principles and procedures in daily work.
  • Follow 5S principles to keep the work area clean, organized, and efficient.
  • Set up equipment required to assemble products in accordance with process specifications.
  • Assemble component parts to meet product specifications and production build schedules.
  • Inspect assembled products for quality and completeness prior to packaging.
  • Package assemblies for shipping and support shipping processes as directed.
  • Complete reports for non-conformance or discrepancies found during assembly or inspection.
  • Safely operate various types of equipment and small hand tools, including drills, screwdrivers, air power drills, air hoses, and hammers.
  • Use grease, cleaning solvents, epoxy, hardening compounds, and Loctite accelerators safely and properly.
  • Proactively collaborate with others in a team environment and participate in team activities focused on safety, quality, process improvements, and problem-solving.
  • Learn to assemble and become proficient in the assembly of less than 50% of the mechanical products, with the opportunity to expand proficiency over time.
  • Learn to pin lock cores, assemble key switches, and assemble padlocks as needed.
  • Report work orders accurately using NetSuite or similar computer-based systems.
  • Navigate training systems and tools to complete required training.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions carefully to produce error-free work.
  • Use a computer to process work and complete required documentation.
  • Maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines in a production environment.
  • Consistently demonstrate a professional demeanor, appearance, and positive attitude.
  • Arrive on time, work reliably throughout the shift, and demonstrate honesty and a high degree of integrity.
  • Adapt to changes in processes, priorities, and production demands in a dynamic environment.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support manufacturing operations.
Essential Skills

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility operating Monday through Friday from 6:00 . to 2:30 . The position requires standing for extended periods, walking, and occasional bending, kneeling, and crouching for 8–10 hours per day. You frequently use your hands to handle and operate hand tools and standard office equipment, and you need close vision and the ability to adjust focus for detailed assembly work. You must be able to talk and hear in person and by telephone. You regularly lift or move products up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance, and you are expected to ask for help with any lifting greater than 50 pounds. The facility maintains a moderate noise level, typically below 85 decibels, with minimal exposure to other environmental hazards. Compliance with all safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements is mandatory. The dress code requires jeans and steel toe or composite safety shoes, and prohibits shorts, tank tops, dresses, sweats, leggings, revealing tops, and jeans with tears or holes. Work is performed on-site in the facility to enable interaction with other employees and access to necessary files and equipment, and reasonable accommodations are made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
