Piedmont Fire is seeking qualified candidates for Firefighter / Paramedic to join a department defined by high standards, strong teamwork, and a balanced pace that supports service, recovery, and growth.

This recruitment is open to both :

  • Lateral firefighter / paramedics currently working full-time in a professional fire agency
  • Entry-level paramedics with 9-1-1 experience who are ready to take the next step into fire service (academy provided)

Our team delivers advanced life support, fire suppression, rescue, and public service with professionalism and pride. We train hard, support one another, and serve a community that genuinely values the work we do.

Recruitment Details

Annual Salary : $129,207 - $148,399

Schedule : 48 / 96

1st round interviews : January 22 & 23, 2026

Chief's interviews : January 30, 2026

  • Minimum Qualifications

    Lateral Applicants

  • Valid California EMT-Paramedic license (or National Registry with CA license by conditional offer)
  • California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I certification (by conditional offer)
  • Currently working full-time as a Firefighter / Paramedic with a paid department, or completed two full seasons (6+ months each) as a paid seasonal firefighter in the past two years
  • Experience as a transport paramedic
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry-level Applicants

  • Valid California EMT-Paramedic license (or National Registry with CA license by conditional offer)
  • Minimum one-year full-time experience as a paramedic on a 9-1-1 ambulance
  • Current CPAT card at time of application
  • Placement on the FCTC Statewide Eligibility List
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing and Requirements (all applicants)

  • Valid California Class C Drive License and satisfactory driving record (by final offer)
  • Must pass a background investigation, fingerprinting, and pre-employment physical
  • Willingness to work 48-hour shifts, deploy on mutual aid, and meet the physical demands of the role
