Long-Term Care Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Memphis, TN
Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time and PRN opportunities may be available)

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our long-term care team in Memphis, Tennessee. The RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting. This role includes assessing resident needs, administering medications and treatments, coordinating care with interdisciplinary team members, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for residents.
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies according to physician orders.
  • Monitor residents'health status and promptly identify changes in condition.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and resident responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), ensuring quality resident care.
  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and initiate life-saving interventions when necessary.
  • Educate residents and family members regarding medical conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys.
  • Ensure continuity of care during shift changes through effective communication and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing).
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Tennessee Department of Health regulations is preferred.
  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care environment.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
  • IV therapy certification (if applicable).
  • Wound care experience is a plus.
  • Charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to assist residents with transfers and mobility.
  • Ability to work rotating weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
