POSITION SUMMARY

CVS Health is building a world of health around every individual, creating a more connected, convenient, and compassionate experience. At CVS Health®, you will collaborate with passionate colleagues who care deeply, innovate with purpose, take accountability, and prioritize safety and quality in everything we do. Join us and be part of something bigger—simplifying health care for one person, one family and one community at a time.

The Staff Software Development Engineer is a key technical leader within the Developer Experience (DevEx) space, accountable for the development, operations and support of web-based tooling and platforms that empower CVS Health engineers. This role partners closely with DevEx technical leaders and senior enterprise stakeholders to ensure investments align with CVS Health’s strategic goals. The Staff Engineer defines the technical vision, architecture, and execution for an AI‑assisted, least‑privilege access platform, operating at a systems level to translate access governance objectives into scalable, secure, and developer‑centric solutions.

What we expect of you –

  • Partner with data and security teams to validate signal quality and model outcomes.

o Platform Engineering & Integration

  • Establish clear APIs and automation workflows.

  • Ensure the platform supports continuous access evaluation and lifecycle management.

o Security, Governance & Compliance

  • Embed auditability, explainability, and policy enforcement into the platform by design.

  • Collaborate with security, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure governance requirements are met without sacrificing developer velocity.

o Technical Leadership & Influence

  • Function as a technical authority and mentor for junior engineers.

  • Drive engineering best practices, design reviews, and architectural standards.

  • Influence cross-team alignment across security, identity, platform, and developer experience organizations.
