Behavioral Health Clinic Medial Assistant Opportunity

The Behavioral Health Clinic at St. Luke's - Plaza location is seeking an experienced Medial Assistant (MA) to be an integral part of our team that delivers high quality patient-centered mental health care to our community. This position is responsible for assisting providers in the evaluation, management, and delivery of professional mental health care in a busy multi-specialty physician practice.

The Work :

• Provide an excellent patient experience by managing the flow of patients, providing excellent customer service, establishing rapport with patients and maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Record portal messages and phone calls and medication requests in EMR
• Call in prescriptions-authorize refills per providers orders
• Triage portal messages and phone calls
• Provide Patient Education (ONLY IF SCRIPTED)
• Assist providers with recording social history, medications, etc. in office note in EMR
• Promote mySaintLukes as primary communication
• Obtain all medication prior authorizations
• Assist with completion of FMLA / Short Term Disability Paperwork
• Request medical records
• Utilize the EMR system and scan / download documents
• Obtain vitals for all patients upon request and record in EMR
• Scheduling follow up appointments
• Fill in for other positions in the office when necessary
• Other duties assigned by providers or Practice Manager

Applicable Experience : Less than 1 year Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
