Senior Transportation Engineer
South Florida | Full-Time | On-Site
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to support the planning, design, and technical oversight of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects across South Florida. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant roadway systems through strong engineering judgment, design leadership, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
This position is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who excels in both design execution and team leadership within complex transportation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee the design and planning of transportation facilities and roadway infrastructure projects
Develop and review rural roadway design plans, including alignment, drainage, and safety improvements
Lead transportation planning efforts such as corridor studies, routing analysis, and conceptual design development
Review engineering reports, traffic studies, and technical design submittals
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including FDOT, BIA, and other governing agencies
Provide technical oversight of consultants and internal engineering staff
Support development of cost estimates, construction schedules, and capital improvement planning
Identify and recommend roadway improvements to enhance safety and traffic flow
What We’re Looking For
12+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on transportation and roadway projects
Strong background in rural roadway design, drainage systems, and roadway geometry
Experience with traffic analysis and transportation planning concepts
Ability to evaluate technical work and translate it into practical, buildable solutions
Strong leadership experience supervising engineers or coordinating technical teams
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Required
State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
Valid Florida Driver’s License
Ability to travel to project sites and facilities as needed
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred Skills
Experience with MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or stormwater design tools
Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS (ESRI), and water/sewer modeling software
Strong knowledge of civil engineering and transportation design standards and practices
