Summary This position is organizationally under Psychiatry Service, and the incumbent works directly for the Administrative Officer, Mental Health for Mental Health at VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). Serves as a primary contact for informational needs and services to a broad range of customers, including senior management, program directors, and service chiefs in terms of analyzing, planning, developing informational needs through programming, data mining, and data warehouses. Responsibilities Major Duties include but are not limited to the following: Incumbent serves as an analyst and advisor to Mental Health leadership on the evaluation and the effectiveness of Mental Health programs and operations, including those related to Suicide Prevention, Tele-Mental Health, My HealtheVet, clinic access, scheduling and consult management. Incumbent provides Mental Health leadership with independently developed data and objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of Mental Health operations and management and advises on potential benefits/uses of process improvement strategies to improve efficiency of programs. Incumbent researches and investigates new or improved processes or practices for potential application to Mental Health operations. Incumbent analyzes new or proposed regulations to determine impact on Mental Health operations and management and develops new or modified administrative program policies, regulations, goals or objectives to ensure compliance with regulations. Incumbent utilizes quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation techniques to advise Mental Health leadership on the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, information and documentation systems, and similar functions of management in order to ensure short-range and long-range national, VISN and facility facility-wide strategic initiatives, performance measures and monitors are met relating to clinic wait times, clinic flow, care coordination, provider continuity, appointment availability, consult management, electronic wait lists, and all other aspects of clinic operations. Incumbent analyzes, evaluates, advises on, validates, or improves workload capture for VAPAHCS Mental Health programs. Incumbent completes an analysis of compliance with national directives or performance measures and independently determines and initiates training programs based on gathered data.
