Job description

Dive in and do the best work of your career at DigitalOcean. Journey alongside a strong community of top talent who are relentless in their drive to build the simplest scalable cloud. If you have a growth mindset, naturally like to think big and bold, and are energized by the fast-paced environment of a true industry disruptor, you’ll find your place here. We value winning together—while learning, having fun, and making a profound difference for the dreamers and builders in the world.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (Solutions Architecture) who is passionate about driving execution, alignment, and operational excellence across a highly technical Solutions organization.

As a Technical Program Manager (Solutions Architecture) at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing cloud computing and AI by ensuring customer‑driven technical initiatives move from idea to impact. Reporting to the Director of Solutions Architecture, you will operate as a force multiplier for the Solutions team—owning cross‑functional programs, driving clarity across Product and Engineering, and ensuring high‑priority initiatives are executed with speed, rigor, and accountability.

This role is highly visible and highly collaborative. The ideal candidate is technically fluent, operationally strong, and comfortable leading complex initiatives without formal authority. Over time, you will become a trusted execution partner to Solutions leadership and a key connector between field teams and internal product delivery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and operate Product Capability Requests (PCRs) end‑to‑end, including intake, refinement, prioritization, execution tracking, and communication.
  • Translate customer and field‑driven technical needs into clear, actionable requirements for Product and Engineering teams.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize Jira workflows, dashboards, and reporting to provide real‑time visibility into program health, risks, and outcomes.
  • Drive cross‑functional execution by establishing milestones, owners, timelines, and success criteria for Solutions‑owned initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Solutions Architects to ensure technical context and customer impact are accurately represented in program inputs.
  • Facilitate planning sessions, program reviews, and retrospectives to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify execution risks, bottlenecks, and dependency issues, and drive resolution across teams.
  • Establish lightweight, repeatable processes that enable the Solutions organization to scale effectively.
  • Support additional strategic initiatives for the Solutions team, including tooling improvements, operational programs, and enablement efforts.

Key Metrics:

  • Program Execution Effectiveness – On‑time and on‑outcome delivery of critical Solutions‑owned initiatives.
  • Reduction in Time‑to‑Decision – Decreased cycle time from PCR intake to Product or Engineering decision.
  • PCR Throughput & Quality – Volume of PCRs processed with clear technical requirements and minimal rework.
  • Cross‑Functional Execution Efficiency – Improved collaboration speed and reduced friction across Solutions, Product, and Engineering.
  • Operational Visibility & Reporting – Accuracy and adoption of Jira‑based dashboards providing leadership insight into program status and risks.

What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:

  • 3+ years of experience in Program Management, Technical Program Management, Solutions Operations, or a related role within a technical organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira, including workflow design, issue tracking, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Technical fluency across cloud infrastructure concepts (compute, storage, networking, containers, Kubernetes) with the ability to engage credibly with technical teams.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and drive execution without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and execution skills in fast‑moving environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize technical and business inputs into clear action plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting customer‑facing technical teams such as Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or Professional Services.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery models and product development lifecycles.
  • Experience driving operational improvements or scaling processes within a growing technical organization.

Compensation Range:

  • $97,600.00 - $122,000.00
