Job descriptionBachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or similar discipline with quantitative focus required Working experience (3+yrs) building applications with Python and SQL (Snowflake) required Background in software development with Flask and Fastapi libraries preferred Experience with JavaScripts, HTML, CSS preferred. Knowledge of Snowflake SQL, data warehousing, statistical analysis tools, and visualization tools. Experience with Posit, Posit Connect and dbt Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code and maintain version control strategies. Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tools to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports. Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. Quick learner and has demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and execute small to medium scale projects. The Opportunity
As a part of the Data Solutions Support Team, this individual will be responsible to build world class data products to increase efficiency on reporting solutions for Ally's ACOSS. As Senior Data Analyst at Ally you will leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problemsAt this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.In office role with hybrid schedule, Ally work locations Lewisville TX or Detroit MI
The Work Itself
- Partner with the business to provide consultancy and translate business needs to design and develop data products to improve efficiency and bring value to partner business units.
- Stays current with industry trends and leads development of key data / analytics innovation platforms
- Collaborates with governance teams to design and implement common data standards to enable consistent and accurate reporting for the business
- Partner with senior management to understand and deliver key analytic solutions to gather performance insights
- Ensure stability, performance and support of production reporting and meet demand for data across Analytic teams
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL, Python, software development and Database architecture
- Working knowledge of Big data concepts and data retrieval from Snowflake and multiple other sources.
